Biography

Capturing the environment around me has been my interest from an early age and latterly a passion of mine. With my first taste of photography being a viewfinder-skewed adventure with an old Box Brownie camera on a holiday in Blackpool, a succession of primitive film cameras followed until I would embrace the 35 mm film SLR format with the high image quality and control it afforded; and eventually the digital SLR with all its flexibility and sheer convenience.

With a background in design and several years spent working as an artist in the computer games industry, my photographic work has evolved with my personal and commercial experiences, latterly taking on a frequent architectural and industrial direction. Bristol-based, I live in an environment which is rich in both industrial heritage and architectural diversity; the West Country also features an impressive natural backdrop which has inspired much of my landscape photography.

My work features in a number of private collections and I have also supplied photography on a commercial basis for office space decoration and a recent restaurant business venture. I have also exhibited extensively during the last couple of years at several events and galleries including the Royal West of England Academy.

Following the recent success and the immersive experience of my first major project, I intend to build on this by continuing to capture the essence of historic and interesting buildings in future projects.
